The Cultural Center Collaborative acknowledges the collective pain, anger, and loss of precious Black lives being experienced by our community. The trauma is a result of racism, white supremacy, and the unjust deaths of Black people. We recognize these tragic deaths and anti-blackness are rooted in the history of our nation, built on institutional and structural racism.
On June 10, 2020 Rutgers University’s Asian American Cultural Center, Paul Robeson Cultural Center, Center for Social Justice Education & LGBT Communities, and Center for Latino Arts & Culture invited students, faculty and staff, student organizations, and offices to join for a virtual vigil to honor the Black lives lost to violence, injustice, and police brutality.
We gathered together with nearly 400 participants to give messages of solidarity, prayers of hope and healing, and stories of resilience. It is an opportunity for our community and allies to stand together, united in peace, healing, and social justice. Watch the full event recording below.
